Amanda Ellis is a Black Chicanx assistant professor of Mexican American literature in the Department of English at the University of Houston. She writes about healing and womanhood. Her creative and critical work has appeared in Chicana/Latina Studies, Chiricú, Aztlán, The Journal of Latina Critical Feminism, Label Me Latina/o, Kalfou, and MELUS.
