Catherine Ventura (she/hers) is a Dominican-American writer and educator from Paterson, New Jersey. In addition to teaching college composition and literature courses, she writes creative nonfiction and poetry that center Dominican girl- and womanhood and their embodied ways of knowing. She is currently a doctoral student in the joint PhD program in English and Education at the University of Michigan, where she researches Latinx youth literacy practices and the functions of memory in Caribbean Latinidad.
